Berhampur: Manas Ranjan Das, a senior assistant in Sub-Divisional Veterinary Officer (SDVO) office, Bhanjanagar, was caught by Vigilance sleuths while allegedly accepting Rs 15,000 bribe.
He had allegedly demanded illegal gratification from Jagabandhu Sethy, a retired Veterinary Technician of Binchana village, for processing his pensionary benefit file.
His quarter and the residential house are being searched.
Similarly, Ashok Kumar Patnaik, record room in-charge of Phulbani Collectorate, was caught red-handed while allegedly while accepting Rs 2,000 bribe. He had demanded the amount from Lalit Kumar Sahu of Bilaspur village for providing his old land records. The official quarter of the accused is also being searched, SP Vigilance Berhampur Shantanu Padhi said.
