Baripada: Two members of a marriage party died while three others suffered critical injuries when their SUV overturned near Taramara on the Thakurmunda-Anandpur road in Odisha’s Mayurbhanj district on Sunday night.
The victims were family members and relatives of the groom, who was from Godabhanga village, and had gone to Sukruli on Sunday evening to attend his marriage. While returning, the Bolero they had hired hit a roadside culvert and overturned near Taramara at around 2 am.
The deceased were identified as Kshetrabasi Maharana (62) and Kulamani Maharana (55) of Godabhanga village. Fire services personnel from Thakurmunda rescued three others from the vehicle in a critical condition.
The driver, identified as Prashant Kumar Pati of Satkosia, was critically injured in the accident.
