Bhubaneswar: Maoists on Sunday gunned two people’s representatives near Odisha-Andhra Pradesh border.
The deceased have been identified as MLA of ruling Telugu Desham Party (TDP) Sarbeswar Rao, who was representing Araku constituency in Andhra Pradesh assembly, and former MLA S Soma.
The incident took place when the duo was attending a programme near Thutangi village in Andhra Pradesh.
The ultras fled the spot immediately after committing the crime. A past enmity with both the leaders is suspected to be the reason behind the murder, police sources said.
