Puri: Life guards rescued two of three students, who reportedly drowned in the sea at Puri after getting swept by high tide on Saturday morning.
The trio, students of a private aviation institute in Bhubaneswar, had gone to take bath in the sea near Digabareni Square with five of their friends when the mishap took place.
One of the rescued students identified as Rahul Sharma (21), a native of Jaipur in Rajasthan, was rushed to the district headquarters hospital and later shifted to SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack when his condition deteriorated.
Efforts are on to trace and rescue the missing student, sources said.
