Two Servitors Engaged in Chariot Work Test COVID Positive In Puri

Puri: Two servitors engaged in construction of chariots for the Rath Yatra have tested positive for COVID-19.

According to the Shree Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA), all the moharana servitors had undergone COVID-19 testing before Akhsya Tritiya and only those tested negative were allowed to the Rath Khala.

However, two Moharana servitors got infected revealed a fresh report, said sources in SJTA. The test were conducted after they showed some symptoms.

They have been kept in isolation and chariot construction at the workshop is in progress, said Puri temple officials.
