Cuttack: Two nurses of Acharya Harihar Post Graduate Institute of Cancer have tested positive for COVID-19.
Briefing the media here on Sunday, director of the Centre Dr Lalatendu Sarangi said that one male and one female nurse had come in contact with a patient from Ganjam district, who was admitted to the Emergency ward on June 19 for chemotherapy.
“As the patient later tested positive for COVID-19, the swab samples of 52 staff of the centre were sent for testing of which two nurses have tested positive for the virus. We have sent the two staff nurses to the Ashwini COVID Hospital here,” Sarangi said.
There will be no new admission in the cancer hospital, but critical patients will be admitted after COVID test at the outpatient department (OPD).
