Two Stolen Asta Dhatu Idols Seized, One Arrested In Bhubaneswar

Bhubaneswar: The Special Task Force (STF) of State Crime Branch on Wednesday seized two Asta Dhatu idols and arrested one person in this connection.

The arrested was identified as Sayed Zilnoor (46) of Jadupur village under Khandagiri police limits here.

According to sources, the two stolen idols, weighing 18 Kg 440 gm and 12 Kg 60 gm respectively, were recovered from his house during a raid by the STF team led by DSP PR Satpathy on Tuesday night. Sayed was arrested after he failed to produce any relevant documents, pertaining to the idols.

A case (2/19) under Sections 379, 411, & 120 (B) of the IPC has been registered against the accused.

The estimated cost of these idols in the international market is over Rs 2.5 crore, the sources added.
