Bargarh: Three youths, including two students, were killed when the motorcycle they were riding rammed into a stationery JCB excavator on Padmapur road near Ghensa-Petupali Chhak in Bargarh district on Tuesday.
According to sources, the two Class XI students, on their way back from tuition, had taken lift from a local youth Saroj Pradhan, who was over-speeding and rammed into the stationary JCB engaged in a road construction work.
The deceased students were identified as Baishnav Bhoi and Akash Kumar, both resident of Churiapalli village in the district.
Following the incident, a group of locals staged a road blockade demanding compensation for the families of the deceased students.
Being informed, police rushed to the spot, seized the bodies for post-mortem and pacified the agitators.
