Jeypore: Jepore police felicitated two adolescent boys, Sanjay Pujari and Kisan Majhi, for saving a person from drowning in a canal here on Friday.
According to sources, the ITI students lost no time and jumped into the canal on seeing one Balaji Sahoo drowning.
Sahoo, a photo studio owner and resident of Gandhi Chhak area under Jeypore municipality, felt dizzy while sitting on the embankment after his morning walk. He then slipped and fell into the canal. The boys were passing by and rescued him.
On being informed, Jeypore police and fire services personnel reached the site and took Sahoo to the district headquarters hospital for treatment.
