Puri/Kamakhyanagar: Unidentified miscreants looted cash from two separate temples in Puri and Dhenkanal districts late on Tuesday.
The first incident was reported from Chandanpur in Puri district after miscreants stole cash from the donation box of Siruli Mahabir temple.
As soon as the news spread, a group of locals gathered in front of the temple and demanded immediate arrest of the looters and recovery of the stolen items.
Similarly, burglars made away with a huge amount of money from Malapura Ram Mandir in Kamakhyanagar after breaking open the donation box of the temple.
The wrongdoers also took away the hard disk of the CCTV camera installed on the premises of the temple.
Police suspect that a group of thieves to have entered the temple by breaking open the gate by using crowbar.
