Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Vigilance sleuths on Friday apprehended two textile inspectors in Odisha’s Boudh district while allegedly accepting Rs 5,000 bribe each.
The accused, identified as Krushna Chandra Sahu and Adit Kumar Das, are posted at the office of Assistant Director, Textile.
According to a Vigilance release, the duo had demanded the illegal gratification from functionary of a weavers cooperative society of Bounsuni for processing the file and facilitating release of bill from the BCCB Bank, Boudh, towards supply of weaving material (sarees).
The entire bribe money was recovered from them and seized.
Following the trap, simultaneous searches are on at two locations each linked to Sahu and Das to ascertain whether they have accumulated assets disproportionate to their known sources of income.
A case has also been registered against them under Section 7 of Prevention of Corruption (Amendment) Act, 2018, at Berhampur Vigilance police station and further investigation is underway, it added.
