Rourkela: Two tunnels were discovered near Jabaghata under Bisra block in Sundargarh district on Wednesday after the earth caved in following incessant rain.
According to information, the earth caved in about 30 feet deep near Jabaghata area due to incessant rains. When the rainwater receded on Monday, a few locals spotted one of the tunnels and alerted the district administration.
District officials along with fire personnel reached the locality and found one more tunnel some 50 metres away from the first one.
Unable to find out the whereabouts of the tunnels, the district administration informed experts from the Geological Survey of India about the matter and requested them to visit the place for further examination.
Officials from Geological Survey of India, Bhubaneswar will visit the spot on Thursday to conduct a thorough inspection into the matter.
