Konark: Unidentified miscreants attacked two women bank employees and looted cash to the tune of Rs 1.1 lakh from them on Banipur-Gop Road in Puri district on Wednesday.
The incident took place when the duo was returning to the bank on a two-wheeler after collecting money from people of a nearby village.
According to available information, three motorcycle-borne miscreants intercepted the women, attacked one of them with sharp weapons and snatched away the bag containing the cash.
Hearing screams, some passerby rescued the women.
The woman, who sustained injuries on her hand, was admitted to a local hospital for treatment.
