Two Workers Die Of Suffocation Inside Septic Tank In Odisha’s Koraput



Koraput: In a tragic incident, two workers died while another was in a critical condition due to suffocation inside an under-construction septic tank at a village in Odisha’s Kor


aput district on Thursday.

According to information, the workers had entered the tank during construction work at Chandili village under Kotpad block but fell unconscious due to a suspected lack of oxygen inside the confined space. The deceased have been identified as Hemant Thakur and Haran Pratyasha.

After receiving information, a police team rushed to the spot and initiated an investigation. The critically injured worker was rescued and admitted to a nearby hospital, where he is currently undergoing treatment

Initial findings indicate oxygen deficiency inside the tank may have caused the suffocation. Authorities have launched a detailed probe to ascertain the exact circumstances surrounding the incident.

Appropriate legal action will be taken after a detailed investigation into the incident, police said.
