Rayagada: Two youths were killed when a speeding SUV hit their bike near a bridge at Therubali village in Odisha’s Rayagada district in late on Sunday night.
Sources said and Sanjaya Huika and Tuna Kadraka of Bariguda village were on the way to their village when a Toyota Innova SUV collided head-on with the bike killing them on the spot.
Tension ran high in the morning on Monday after irate villagers staged a road blockade on Rayagada-Muniguda Road demanding compensation to the family of the deceased.
The blockade was withdrawn after police rushed to the spot and assured the villagers of compensation to the family of the deceased.
The bodies were later taken for post-mortem.
