UAE, Gulf Odia Societies On A Mission To Promote Odisha

Bhubaneswar: The members of Odia Society UAE and the Gulf Odia Fraternity came together to pay tributes to the legendary Biju Patnaik on his 105th birth anniversary in Dubai.

Discussions on promoting the state of Odisha in the global platform through different possible choices were held.

The members of the fraternity chipped in with ideas like starting a restaurant, serving Odia cuisine and selling artefacts and handlooms of Odisha besides promotion of tourism in the state were shared.

“We will try to persuade the Odisha Government to be a part of our initiative,” said one of the members and added “If not, Odias living around the world will be invited to be a part of this mission and vision and it will begin with a unit in Dubai.”

Dubai is a multicultural city catering to people from around the world and from all over India, the society members said.
