Bhubaneswar: A group of unidentified miscreants attacked and robbed a driver of his car and other valuables in Odisha capital late on Wednesday.
The victim, identified as Banesh Mahakud, in his complaint, said two miscreants booked the car attached with Uber on rent and asked the driver to drop him somewhere.
When the vehicle was passing through an isolated place near Tapoban Square in Khandagiri area, the duo asked Mahakud to stop the car and attacked him severely. Later, they took away the vehicle, cash and mobile phone from the victim.
Mahakud, who sustained critical injuries in the attack, was rescued by locals and admitted to a nearby hospital for treatment.
Police have started investigation on the basis of the statement of the injured driver. Raids are being conducted at different places in the city to nab the criminals.
