New Delhi: The Congress Lok Sabha candidate from Kerala’s Thiruvananthapuram Shashi Tharoor is trailing and BJP’s Rajeev Chandrasekhar is ahead of him of by 24,000 votes. He won by more than one lakh votes in 2019 elections.
Another senior Congress leader R. Muraleedharan is also in Thrissur. He is in the third position where BJP candidate Suresh Gopi is leading by 56,000 votes over the CPI candidate Sunil Kumar.
Congress has not fared well as of now in Kerala despite the United Democratic Front (UDF) leading in 16 out of 20 seats. However, Congress leaders are hopeful that things may change as the counting of votes in the coastal belt speeds up, Indian Express reported quoting Congress sources.
