Bhubaneswar: The University Grants Commission (UGC) on Saturday approved undergraduate (UG) and postgraduate (PG) courses for Odisha State Open University.
The UGC gave its approval for these courses through open and distance learning mode from 2018-19 to 2022-23 academic sessions.
The students from across the state can now enroll for Bachelor and Masters degree courses through distance learning programme modules.
The university has received the green light to offer Bachelor of Arts (BA) in English, Hindi, History, Journalism, Political Science, Economics, Sanskrit, Bachelor of Commerce (Hons), BBA, BSc in Livelihoods and Sustainable Development from the current academic session.
Besides, it will also offer Masters degree programmes in English, Economics, History, Hindi, Journalism, Sanskrit, Odia, Political Science, Public Administration, Public Policy, Rural Development, Sociology, Commerce (M.Com) and Cyber Security (MSc).
At present, the varsity is offering certificate diploma, advance diploma and post-graduate diploma programmes in 42 subjects.
