UK-Based Odia Entrepreneur Is ‘Global Indian Of The Year’; Know Why Arun Kar Won The Award

Bhubaneswar: London-based Odia tech entrepreneur Arun Kar has bagged the ‘Global Indian of the Year Award 2020-21’ instituted by magazine AsiaOne and United Research Services (URS).

Kar won the award for his contribution towards setting up the London-based digital innovation company Xpertnest.

Xpertnest is behind the Beach Check UK app, which helps beachgoers main social distancing by showing real time information on beaches.

His company is also working with UK law enforcement agencies on technology solutions to combat crime.

The Nest Group of Companies, which owns Xpertnest, employs over 100 people in Britain, Europe, the Middle East and India.

Kar’s company also bagged the Most Impactful Company of the Year 2021 award of the DotCom magazine, the Company of the Year for Smart City Solutions award in CIO Review in 2019 and was a finalist at UK’s National SME Awards 2020-Business Innovation Category.

In 2019, he won the Young Entrepreneur Award for his contributions to Odia society in London.
