New Delhi: The United Kingdom Prime Minister Rishi Sunak and his wife Akshata Murty have more personal wealth than King Charles, The Sunday Times Rich List revealed.
According to the Sunday Times list of the top 1,000 wealthiest individuals or families residing in the UK, the PM and his wife’s personal fortune increased by more than £120 million over the past year. With their wealth having jumped from last year’s £529 million to £651 million in 2024, they have overtaken King Charles, who saw an increase in his personal fortune from £600 million to £610 million this year.
The PM and his wife’s increase in wealth is mostly because of Murty’s ownership stake in Infosys, the Indian IT company co-founded by her father.
At present, the Prime Minister and Murty are the richest couple to reside at No. 10 Downing Street in London, ranking 245th on the list.
