Paris: Russia was on Friday stripped of hosting this year’s prestigious Champions League final.
Instead of St Petersburg, Paris will stage the biggest game of European club football on May 28.
The executive committee of UEFA, the European football federation, took the decision in view of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.
UEFA express its thanks and appreciation to French President Emmanuel Macron for his personal support and commitment to have the Champions League final moved to France at a time of ‘unparalleled crisis’.
