Kyiv: President Volodymyr Zelensky said Ukraine is no longer pressing for its membership in NATO, a delicate issue that was one of Russia’s stated reasons for invading Ukraine.
“I have cooled down regarding this question a long time ago after we understood that…NATO is not prepared to accept Ukraine,” Zelensky was quoted as saying in a television interview.
Meanwhile, Ukraine has already begun evacuating civilians from Sumy on Tuesday after Russia decided to open humanitarian corridors. Ukrainian and Russian officials agreed to set up corridors in the capital Kyiv and four other cities to move out civilians.
