Kyiv: Two days after Ukrainian actress Oksana Shvets was killed in the ongoing war, ballet star Artyom Datsishin succumbed to injuries he suffered almost three weeks ago amid Russia’s military operation in the eastern European country.
The 43-year-old Datsishin, a former soloist at the National Opera of Ukraine, died in hospital, BBC reported. His friend Tatiana Borovik spoke of her “heartache” in a Facebook post.
Chief stage director at National Opera of Ukraine Anatoly Solovyanenko described Datsishin as a “great artist” and “wonderful man.”
Datsishin was a principal dancer with the National Opera of Ukraine. He would be cremated on Friday in Kyiv.
Actress Oksana was earlier killed in a Russian rocket attack on a residential building in the capital city.
Russian invaded Ukraine on February 24. More than 800 civilians have been killed so far in the war, according to the Office of UN High Commissioner for Human Rights.
