Bhubaneswar: Ahead of the elections to urban local bodies (ULBs), the state government on Friday released the draft reservation list of wards in three municipal corporations.
The draft reservation list has been prepared for different categories of candidates in the elections in Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC), Cuttack Municipal Corporation (CMC) and Berhampur Municipal Corporation (BeMC).
The reservation has been made in categories of scheduled caste (SC), scheduled tribe (ST), SC women, ST women and other women. While 38 wards have been reserved for these categories of candidates in BMC, 33 wards reserved in CMC and 23 wards in BeMC.
Of the reserved wards in BMC, three are meant for SC contestants, one for ST candidate, three for SC woman candidates, two for ST woman and the rest 29 wards for other woman candidates.
In the election to CMC, three wards are reserved for SC candidates, four for SC woman, one for ST woman, and 25 wards for other woman contestants.
Similarly in BeMC, two wards are reserved for SC candidates, two for SC woman, one ST woman and the rest 18 wards for other woman contestants.
