Pune: Suraj Lade’s excellent attacking prowess and Vishal’s powerful defence helped Odisha Juggernauts to a come-from-behind 48-39 win over Telugu Yoddhas in the Ultimate Kho Kho League here on Sunday evening.
It was the table-toppers Juggernauts’ seventh victory in eight games – and sixth on the trot.
Suraj captured four opposition defenders to score 10 points, while Vishal spent 3.53 minutes on the mat and fetched his team six bonus points.
Gowtham MK also played his part for the Juggernauts, gathering nine points.
Odisha Juggernauts have now consolidated their top position 21 points, four more than second-placed Gujarat Giants.
It was Telugu Yoddhas who started the match aggressively and led 22-18 in the first innings.
The Yoddhas were in front after the third turn as well. But Odisha Juggernauts threw caution to the wind in the final turn to capture 9 opposition players, scoring 22 points to register a comfortable win in the end.
