Paradip: The mystery behind the unclaimed suitcase, which created panic among employees and workers at Paradip oil refinery of Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL), has been solved.
According to sources, IOCL employees and workers found the suitcase within the high-security IOCL premises on Tuesday morning. Soon, the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) personnel sealed the road and requested locals to evacuate the area to facilitate the investigation amid fears of a possible bomb explosion at the IOCL facility.
Police too reached the spot and a dog squad was called in to assist in the examination for explosives. It was later found that the suitcase contained only a hammer, paper, and various other items. An IOCL worker, identified as Debabrat Panda, had left this bag in front of the main gate after security personnel denied him entry on Monday night, IIC of Abhyachandpur police station, Rajkishore Behera told the media.
Panda, who works as a radiographer at IOCL, was questioned by police and later released, he added.
