Keonjhar: Three persons were injured after an under-construction bridge over the Kusei river in Odisha’s Keonjhar district collapsed on Monday.
All the injured persons were working as labourers at the construction site. One among them has been admitted to Anandpur hospital in critical condition.
According to sources, two beams of the bridge collapsed on the Kusei riverbank while being lifted with the help of a crane when the construction work was underway.
On being informed, Ghasipura Police along with Keonjhar sub-collector arrived at the spot and initiated a probe.
Meanwhile, the locals alleged that the mishap occurred due to the carelessness of the construction company and beams being used were of low-quality materials.
