Bhubaneswar: Taking advantage of the rain, robbers looted jewellery and cash worth over Rs 1 crore from a shop here late Monday night.
Police have formed a special team to nab the robbers who broke into Lakshmi Narayan Jewellery. The team is examining footage of CCTV cameras installed at nearby shops.
The shop is located at Delta Square. The robbers broke open its shutter, door and strong room late Monday night. The miscreants took away more than 1 kg gold jewellery, 10 kg silver jewellery and Rs 1.5 lakh cash, the total worth amounting to more than Rs 1 crore, the shopowner said.
The robbers also took away the CCTV camera footage recorder, police said.
