Bhubaneswar: An undertrial prisoner lodged in Jharpada Special Jail died while undergoing treatment at Capital Hospital here on Wednesday night.
Sources said the deceased, Kalama Kanta Das, owner of Solan Inn, was arrested by the Commissionerate Police in connection with a financial fraud of Rs 10 lakh.
While being lodged in judicial custody in Jharpada Jail, his health condition deteriorated.
The jail authorities had admitted him to Capital Hospital recently.
