Cuttack: An undertrial prisoner died while undergoing treatment at SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack on Saturday.
The deceased has been identified as Bharat Mandal. He was arrested on March 28 and was in Choudwar Jail since then.
According to sources, Mandal was ill since the past few days. He was admitted to the SCB College and Hospital on Friday night.
However, he died on Saturday while undergoing treatment.
Meanwhile, family members of Mandal have alleged that he died due to police torture.
The body will be handed over to his family members after postmortem, said the police.
