Puri: The sculpture by internationally-acclaimed sand artist Sudarsan Pattnaik on Puri beach with the message “Preserve our oceans” earned praise from UN Environment Programme (UNEP).
The UNEP tweeted an image of the SandArt with “Happy #WorldOceansDay!
Pattnaik took five hours to create the sculpture out of six tonnes of sand and measures 15 feet wide.
Preserve our ocean for life and livelihoods, read the message of the sculpture. “Our words need to translate into actions and we all need to take substantial actions towards protecting oceans,” said Pattnaik. “It is very honoured for me to get appreciation from UNEP,” he added.
The UNEP also shared the sand art in all their social media accounts like Facebook, Instagram.
Pattnaik’s sand sculpture on World Environment Day was also appreciated by UNEP.
