Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Council of Medical Registration on Tuesday served a notice on former director of Veer Surendra Sai Institute of Medical Sciences and Research (VIMSAR) Aswini Pujahari in connection with a viral video in which he is seen using unproven therapies to treat patients.
He has been asked to appear before the ethics committee at 4 pm on September 6, failing which strict actions will be taken against him.
Pujahari had stepped down from his post on February 9 after a standoff with junior doctors’ association (JDA) which accused him of conducting experimental surgeries on poor and destitute patients without the consent and approval of the ethics committee.
