Bhawanipatna: Minister of State for Home Dibya Shankar Mishra, who is facing the Opposition heat in the Mamita Meher murder case, seems unfazed by the political firestorm and has started making public appearances in his Assembly constituency Junagarh and Bhawanipatna.
In a sign that he continues to enjoy the support of the BJD leadership, Mishra’s public appearances come ahead of Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik’s likely visit to his constituency on November 8 to distribute Biju Swasthya Kalyan Yojana (BSKY) smart cards.
On Saturday, Mishra visited the Kalahandi Agriculture College campus in Bhawanipatna to supervise the site of the helipad ahead of the CM’s visit. He also visited Junagarh where he laid the foundation stone of a park for children and women.
On Sunday, Mishra went to Mahichala, Palas and Habaspur villages under Junagarh constituency and attended Biju Mo Parivar programme. He also distributed clothes and photographs of Lord Jagannath to senior citizens.
Addressing party members, Mishra said there was a political conspiracy against him.
