Union Budget 2022: 400 New Generation Vande Bharat Trains To Be Introduced In 3 Yrs

Bhubaneswar: In order to accelerate national growth, Union Finance Minister unveiled India at 100 plan in her budget speech in Parliament on Tuesday.

Elaborating PM Gati Shakti programme in this regard, she said the plan involves seven engines of Railways, roads, airports, ports, mass transport, waterways and logistics infrastructure.

Highlights of the plan: 

  • 100 PM Gati Shakti cargo terminals to be developed in 3 years.
  • Master Plan for expressways in 2022-23.
  • The expressway plan to facilitate faster movement of people and goods.
  • National Highway network to be expanded by 25,000 km in 2022-23.
  • Rs 20,000 crores to be mobilised to complement public resources.
  • Implementation of innovative ways for building metro systems.
  • 400 new generation Vande Bharat trains to be brought in next 3 years.
  • Inclusive development, productivity enhancement and investment, sunrise opportunities, energy transition and climate action and financing of investments.
