Bhubaneswar: Union Health Minister and BJP national president Jagat Prakash Nadda arrived in Bhubaneswar on Thursday on a two-day visit to Odisha.
Soon after his arrival in the evening, Nadda was accorded a warm welcome by Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi and senior BJP leaders at the Biju Patnaik International Airport (BPIA). State BJP president Manmohan Samal was among those present at the airport to receive the Union Minister.
The Union Minister, who is scheduled to attend a summit organised by the National Health Mission (NHM) in Puri on Friday, proceeded to Konark for overnight stay after a brief discussion with senior BJP leaders.
Nadda will inaugurate the 9th national summit on Good, Replicable Practices and Innovation in Public Healthcare System in India and unveil the report of the 16th Common Review Mission.
Chief Minister Majhi and Health Minister Mukesh Mahaling are also scheduled to attend the inaugural ceremony of the two-day summit at Puri.
Since its inception in 2013, the National Innovation Summit has been an annual endeavor to promote knowledge sharing and cross-learning among States and UTs. Over the years, it has successfully documented and disseminated pioneering initiatives that have significantly contributed to strengthening India’s healthcare system. The previous summit, along with the Chintan Shivir, was held in Kevadia, Gujarat, in May 2022.
After attending the Puri event, the BJP national president is slated to come to Bhubaneswar where he will hold discussion with key state party leaders on organisational matters.
