Bhubaneswar: With BJP gearing up for next year’s elections, Union Home Minister and party stalwart Amit Shah is slated to undertake a visit to Odisha on March 26.
Giving this information at a press meet in Bhubaneswar on Saturday, partyy’s state unit general secretary Lekhashree Samantsinghar said Shah is slated slated to attend a host of programmes in Bhadrak.
The one-day visit is being undertaken as part of BJP’s ongoing Lok Sabha Pravas.
The Home Minister will first visit the Akhandalamani temple in Bhadrak district for darshan at the shrine.
Thereafter, Shah will attend a public meeting at Dhamanagar in the district. Over 50,000 people and party workers from the Bhadrak Lok Sabha constituency will attend the meeting, Samantsinghar said.
The former BJP national president will also hold consultations with senior state party leaders and other office bearers in Bhubaneswar later in the day, she said.
Stating that Shah has been extending all possible assistance to the state and leading the party from the front, Samantsinghar said the senior leader’s visit will go a long way in infusing new energy among the party workers.
Shah’s visit assumes enormous significance for the party in the state ahead of the crucial 2024 elections.
Shah visited the state in August last year. The BJP stalwart had announced that Odisha is on the focus list of the BJP and that the saffron party poised to come to power in the state in the 2024 Assembly elections.
During the upcoming visit, Shah is also likely to review all the preparatory works and finetune strategies for the next election.
Political atmosphere in Odisha is gradually warming up as the state Assembly elections is also due next year apart from the Lok Sabha polls.
