Bhubaneswar: The National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 of the Centre has proved to attract the children to education while Sishu Vatika and Vidya Pravesh programmes of Vidya Bharati have emerged as perfect modules of the policy, said Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan.
Pradhan was speaking at the inauguration of new buildings and modern infrastructure of Saraswati Sishu Mandirs at 10 places in the state on Saturday. Pradhan inaugurated the schools in Dhenkanal and Angul districts personally and other schools through video-conferencing.
He dedicated the schools to the people through video-conferencing in Boudh, Phulbani in Kandhamal district, Jeypur in Koraput district, Dhanupalli in Sambalpur city, Balipada, Dengasta and Kabisuryanagar in Ganjam district and in Kendujhargarh in Keonjhar.
The new infrastructure of the schools has been constructed at a cost of Rs 24 crore from the CSR fund of Indian Oil Corporation Ltd (IOCL). These schools are equipped with modern facilities like smart classrooms, conference hall, laboratory, library, prayer hall, yoga room, and auditorium. More than 12,000 students are studying in the 10 schools.
