Bhubaneswar: The Central government has accorded top priority to safety and security of all Indians in strife-torn Sudan, said Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan on Friday.
The Minister, in his Twitter handle, said the Centre has been working on mission mode to evacuate stranded Indian citizens including Odias from Sudan under Operation Kaveri.
“The safety and security of the Indian community abroad is a priority for the government under Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Modi Hai To Mumkin Hai,” Pradhan tweeted.
He thanked the Prime Minster and External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar successful evacuation of Indians from violence-hit Sudan.
Pradhan, in a release, mentioned about the experience of an Odia, who was among the evacuated citizens from Sudan. “India has a very high respect in Sudan. Our country is considered as very powerful there. When a super power country like the US could not evacuate its people, the Indian government has been successful in getting its citizens back home safely,” he was quoted as saying.
