Dhenkanal: Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan has inaugurated a 100-bed COVID-19 hospital facility developed by Tata Steel BSL in Dhenkanal district.
The new facility is built on the premises of Kharagprasad Regional Higher Secondary School in Odapada block. It has 50 beds with piped oxygen, 40 beds with oxygen concentrators and 10 ventilator-supported ICU beds apart from other medical equipment for providing secondary level care to COVID patients.
“This hospital will strengthen the health infrastructure in the region, particularly for the people of Dhenkanal and Angul,” Pradhan said after inaugurating the hospital through virtual mode on Monday evening.
The minister also commended Tata Steel BSL and the district administration for developing the hospital so fast.
Among other dignitaries, Odisha’s Health and Family Welfare Minister Naba Kishore Das, State Steel and Mines Minister Prafulla Kumar Mallik, Dhenkanal Collector Bhumesh Chandra Behera and Chairman of Tata Steel BSL TV Narendran were present on the occasion.
