Sambalpur: In order to train Graduate students to get employment in finance, banking and insurance sectors, Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan on Friday launched “Project Odiserv” in Odisha’s Sambalpur on Friday.
Speaking on the occasion, Pradhan said the National Education Policy of the Central government has been assisting in improving the employability of the students. Stating that only academic certificate was not enough, he advised the students to avail training to improve their skills. The Project Odiserv was a right step in this direction, he added.
Under the Project Odiserv, a joint initiative of NSDC and Bajaj Finserve, 100 Graduate students will be imparted training on jobs of financial services, accountant assistant, sales assistant, business representative, insurance agent, data analyst, credit processing officer, loan agent and GST assistant.
The training will be given to the students in 60 colleges across the state. It was launched in 17 colleges in Sambalpur. Around 1100 students have already registered for the training across the state.
A memorandum of understanding (MoU) was also signed between GM University, Sambalpur and Bajaj Finserv for training of students on financial services in the presence of the Union Minister on the occasion.
