Nagpur: Security around the office and home of Union Road Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari was tightened following two threatening calls on Saturday morning.
According to reports, his office in Nagpur received two threatening-extortion calls at 11.30 am and 11.40 am with a demand for Rs 100 crore ramsom. The death threats were made on Gadkari’s Public Relations Office landline number and the caller purportedly uttered the name of absconding mafia don Dawood.
“The details are being found, and our crime branch will work on the CDR. An analysis is underway,” Nagpur DCP Rahul Madane was quoted as saying by ANI.
Gadkari is currently in Nagpur for the Makar Sankranti festival, the reports added.
