Bhubaneswar: Union Minister of State for Tribal Affairs and Jal Shakti Biseswar Tudu has refuted the allegation of assaulting two government officials in Baripada of Mayurbhanj district.
As per reports, the Union Minister called deputy director of the District Planning and Monitoring Unit Aswini Kumar Mallick and assistant director Debashish Mohapatra to BJP office in Baripada for review meeting on Friday.
After the two officials went inside the room of the party office where the Minister was sitting, the latter allegedly locked up from inside and attacked the former with a chair. Both Mallick and Mohapatra, who sustained injuries in the incident, have been admitted to PRM Medical College and Hospital in Baripada.
Later, the assistant director, who had sustained fracture on his left hand, was advised to be shifted to SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack.
In his reaction to the alleged attack on the two government officials, the Union Minister in a tweet refuted it as false and baseless. It is a conspiracy by the opposition parties to defame BJP keeping the panchayat elections in view, he said.
“The officers had called to hold a review meeting with me. Since I was busy, the meeting could not be held and they went away,” Tudu said.
