Sambalpur: Union Minister of State for Coal & Mines Satish Chandra Dubey visited the Mahanadi Coalfields Limited (MCL) and chaired a review meeting at its headquarters here.
He lauded the MCL team for its consistent performance in coal production, despatch and overall growth, and advised everyone to put in more efforts in CSR towards sports and also to develop a model village.
Four MoUs were signed between MCL and Odisha government for ‘Digital Classroom projects’ in the presence of Dubey.
Under its CSR initiative, MCL will fund Rs 17.06 crores for 500 smart classrooms in government schools in Sambalpur, Jharsuguda and Sundargarh districts, and 30 Science STEM Solutions in Jharsuguda district schools.
MoS Dubey, welcomed by Uday A Kaole, CMD, MCL accompanied by Functional Directors Keshav Rao, D(P), CVO PK Patel, JK Borah, D(T/Op) and AS Bapat, Director (T/P&P) on Saturday evening, was given a ceremonial guard of honour on arrival at MCL headquarters.
The MoS planted saplings in the corporate office under the ‘Ek Ped Maa ke Naam’ campaign, promoting a greener tomorrow.
