Bhubaneswar: Union Minister of Tribal Affairs Arjun Munda will arrive in Odisha on Saturday as a part of BJP’s 12-day nationwide campaign to make people aware of the “pro-people” measures that were announced in the Union Budget 2023.
He will hold a press meet at the state party office in Bhubaneswar at 12.05 pm, sources said.
The campaign, which began on Wednesday after Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman presented the last full budget before the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, is being coordinated by senior BJP leader Sushil Modi and will conclude on February 12.
Chief ministers of all BJP-ruled states have been asked to address conferences, while senior party leaders will do so in Opposition-ruled states. Union ministers, lawmakers, legislators, and senior BJP leaders will also hold interactions across the country to highlight the “welfare” and “pro-investment” aspects of the budget.
BJP president J P Nadda has formed a task force, comprising nine members, including party general secretary Sunil Bansal and heads of its farmer and youth wings, to organise discussions, press conferences or seminars on the Union Budget in all districts of the country.
Notably, the BJP leadership has asked party leaders to focus on highlighting the welfare aspects of the Union Budget and not get sidetracked by the controversy over the Hindenburg Research report on the Adani Group.
