Universities In Odisha Can Hire Retired Staff For Non-Teaching Posts

Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government has asked universities in the state to hire retired employees to fill vacant non-teaching posts to tide over staff shortage.

State Higher Education Department Secretary Birendra Korkara has written to all Vice-Chancellors in this regard, according to a report.

The universities have been asked to hire a maximum of 20 retired employees as section officers, junior and senior assistants, storekeepers and in other Group D posts.

Those hired will be governed by the rules of the General Administration Department and entitled to honorarium. The appointments will be on a temporary basis for one year or till the appointment of regular employees.
