Bhubaneswar: Restaurants in the hotels in the city have been allowed to open but they can only provide services to in-house guests.
In an official order, the Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) on Tuesday stated that the restaurants in the hotels have to abide by the guidelines of COVID-19 while providing services.
Standalone restaurants are not allowed to serve food. They can, however, take home delivery orders. Dhabas along the state and the national highways and major roads are also permitted to offer takeaway service.
Initially in the Unlock 3.0 guidelines, restaurants were allowed to open from August 1 with dine-in service. The Odisha government, however, decided to reimpose restrictions from August 4 as these witnessed heavy rush of people, compromising all safety protocols including social distancing.
