Bhubaneswar: While further easing the ongoing partial lockdown norms, the Odisha government on Tuesday increased the ceiling on wedding, threat ceremony and funeral programmes to 250, including hosts, guests, priests, catering and support staff.
Earlier, 25 people were allowed to attend a wedding and the number for the thread ceremony and the funeral was 20.
While announcing the guidelines for September, Development Commissioner and SRC Pradeep Kumar Jena said that a maximum of 50 persons, including the bridegroom, priest, friends, relatives, guests, members of the band party, will be allowed to participate in a marriage procession. “They would count towards the ceiling of 250 persons,” he said
The organisers, however, have to get written permission from the competent authority to hold the functions, he said
“The attendees should strictly follow hand hygiene, mask use and physical distance at these functions,” he added.
Though there is no specific information, the government seems to have done away with the restrictions on holding feasts on these occasions.
