Unlock Odisha: No Change In These Restrictions; Weekend Shutdown To Continue In 10 Dists

Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government on Thursday extended the ongoing partial lockdown till 6 am on August 1 while allowing further ease in the curbs.

There have been no changes in the Category A and Category B districts, which is based on infection rate.

While allowing a longer window of business transactions in both the categories, the government decided to continue with the weekend shutdown in the 10 districts –  Khurda, Puri, Nayagarh, Cuttack, Kendrapada, Jagatsinghpur, Jajpur, Balasore, Bhadrak and Mayurbhanj, where shops have been allowed to remain open from 6 am to 5 pm.

Shops will remain open 6 am to 8 pm from Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, Bargarh, Sambalpur, Deogarh, Kalahandi, Balangir, Nuapada, Sonepur, Ganjam, Gajapati, Kandhamal, Boudh, Koraput, Nabarangpur, Malkangiri, Rayagada, Angul, Dhenkanal and Keonjhar.

The timings of the night curfew have been slightly tweaked. Night curfew in A Category districts will be from 8 pm to 6 am and in B category districts, from 5 pm to 6 am.

However, the ceiling on weddings (25) and funerals (20) will continue as usual. The hosts will not be allowed to hold any feasts.

RESTRICTIONS CONTINUE…

>> Parks, shopping mall, cinema halls will remain closed

>> All educational/training/coaching institutions will remain closed. However, physical conduct of examinations by the State and Central agencies to be allowed on case to case basis by the respective departments with due intimation to all authorities concerned.

>> Jatra, opera, melas and open-air theatres will not be permitted

>> Daily and weekly markets in Category-B districts will remain closed

>> Inter-state public transport by buses to remain suspended

>> The lockdown restrictions on social and political gatherings and the opening of temples will continue as before.

>> Bars to remain closed while restaurants will be allowed takeaways only.
