Untimely Rath Jatra: Complaint Lodged Against Mumbai ISKCON Chief

Puri/Bhubaneswar: Protesting the untimely Rath Jatra organised by ISKCON in Mumbai on January 30, activists of Jagannath Sena and Sachetan Nagakarika Manch lodged a complaint against Mumbai ISKCON chief Radhanath Das Swami Maharaj at Simhadwara Police Station on Sunday afternoon.

The activists also burnt an effigy of the Mumbai ISKCON chief.

Talking to mediapersons, convener of Jagannath Sena, Priyadarshan Patnaik said the people of Odisha will not allow ISKCON to conduct Rath Jatra by violating the tradition of Shree Jagannath Temple in Puri. “We urge the state government to take drastic action against ISKCON and not allow its entry to Odisha,” he added.

Meanwhile, a delegation of Utkal Sammilani met ISKCON authorities in Bhubaneswar this afternoon and submitted a memorandum on this matter.
